Web3 University Tour 2025 was a campus-based education program designed to introduce blockchain, crypto assets, and Web3 concepts to university students across Indonesia throughout 2025. The program reached students in eight cities through a series of in-person educational roadshows held at higher education institutions.

The initiative was organized by Binance Academy, Tokocrypto, and Coinvestasi. Its primary objective was to improve Web3 literacy among students by providing foundational knowledge, regulatory context, and exposure to potential career pathways within the digital asset and decentralized technology sectors. Rather than focusing on market speculation, the program emphasized practical understanding and long-term ecosystem participation.

Campus-Based Education Across Eight Cities

The Web3 University Tour was conducted between April and December 2025. During this period, the program visited eight cities: Yogyakarta, Bali, Medan, Solo, Semarang, Aceh, Jakarta, and Pontianak, which served as the final location in the national series.

The tour collaborated with eight educational institutions, including Universitas Gadjah Mada, INSTIKI Bali, Politeknik Medan, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Politeknik Aceh, Universitas Pancasila Jakarta, and Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak.

According to implementation data, the program recorded 3,774 registrations, with 2,373 participants attending sessions in person. In addition to institutional partnerships, the initiative was supported by 30 community partners across different regions, which helped extend outreach to local student communities and Web3 interest groups.

Educational Focus and Curriculum Structure

In each city, participants attended structured educational sessions covering blockchain fundamentals, Web3 concepts, and the role of crypto assets within decentralized ecosystems. Discussions also addressed career opportunities in the Web3 sector, including development, research, community management, and product roles.

The curriculum was designed with an applied approach. Topics included ecosystem mapping, the regulatory landscape for crypto assets in Indonesia, and practical steps for building relevant skills and digital portfolios. This structure aimed to help students contextualize Web3 within Indonesia’s legal, technological, and economic environment.

“Through the Web3 University Tour, we want to make Web3 education more accessible and relevant for students,” said Stephen McAllister, Binance Academy Team Lead. “By equipping them with foundational Web3 knowledge through Binance Academy materials, we hope students understand that Web3 is not just about trading, but also about career development, innovation, and building real-world solutions with impact.”

In addition to discussion-based sessions, participants joined Blockchain & Crypto Classes that covered blockchain fundamentals, wallet usage, digital security practices, and basic crypto asset concepts. Participants received certificates of participation and event merchandise as part of the educational program.

Talent Identification Through Cumlaude Web3

Beyond general education, Web3 University Tour 2025 also incorporated a talent recognition component known as Cumlaude Web3. This program was held in each city and evaluated participants based on comprehension, engagement, and assessment results during the event.

Top participants from each city were selected to advance to the national-level Final Cumlaude Web3 stage. The objective of this initiative was to identify students with strong interest and potential to further develop within Indonesia’s Web3 ecosystem.

The program concluded with the selection of eight students as candidates for the Binance Academy Student Ambassador program. These students were given opportunities to participate in Binance Academy’s educational initiatives in Indonesia and to contribute to Web3 literacy efforts within their campuses and local communities.

The Student Ambassador program is structured to support students who aim to pursue careers in Web3-related fields while playing an active role in expanding educational outreach and awareness at the grassroots level.

Feedback from participants indicated that campus-based education initiatives contribute to broader understanding and confidence around Web3 technologies. Muhammad Arief Furqany, an Information Technology student at UINAR Banda Aceh, described the program as reflective of wider adoption trends.

“The Web3 University Tour is concrete proof that blockchain and Web3 are gaining wider adoption in society. Improving Web3 literacy is a foundational step that deserves serious attention. Educational initiatives like this are a progressive and necessary move toward building a technologically literate society in blockchain and digital investment,” he said.

Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana emphasized the long-term perspective of the initiative. “Web3 is not just technology—it represents future opportunities. Through Web3 University Tour 2025, we encourage students to learn, build skills, and take active roles in an evolving digital ecosystem. Tokocrypto remains focused on sustainable Web3 education so that Indonesia’s younger generation is prepared for industry needs and able to contribute positively to the national digital economy,” he said.

Education as a Structural Component of Adoption

The Web3 University Tour 2025 reflects a broader shift within Indonesia’s Web3 ecosystem, where education is increasingly treated as a structural driver of adoption rather than a supplementary activity. As regulatory frameworks mature and industry participation expands, literacy, skills development, and talent readiness are becoming central to long-term ecosystem sustainability.

By engaging directly with universities, the program underscores a key transition in how adoption is formed. Long-term growth is likely to depend less on short-term market cycles and more on informed participation and workforce preparedness. In this sense, Web3 University Tour 2025 functions as a case study in how education-led initiatives can support Indonesia’s evolving digital asset landscape.

In this environment, expanding Web3 adoption in Indonesia is no longer defined solely by platform growth or market access. As competition intensifies and regulatory clarity improves, the availability of informed users, skilled talent, and practical understanding becomes increasingly critical.

To support this shift, Indonesia Crypto Network (ICN) offers a Market Assessment Test designed to help organizations evaluate their readiness within Indonesia’s evolving Web3 ecosystem. The assessment helps identify regulatory and operational gaps, measure alignment with local user behavior and talent availability, and benchmark positioning against both local and global market participants.
